These days it has become necessary for many soon-to-be brides and grooms to limit the amount of money they spend on their wedding. Couples have either found that emptying their savings account for their wedding, isn't wise or it's no longer an option. Whatever the motivation behind a more reasonable, fiscal approach to wedding planning, it is important that individuals don't go too far in the opposite direction. There are certain aspects of a wedding where it best not to pinch pennies. We will list and discuss what some of these are below.
Hair: Because the wedding will likely be captured on film and via photograph and because it is one of the most important days of a woman's life, she will want to look good. For those on a tight budget, it might be necessary to cut costs in other areas so that a woman can get her hair done professionally.
For the bride, having her hair professionally will mean all the difference in the world. She won't have to deal with the stress of doing it herself for such an important occasion. A professional stylist will also be able to do much better job than the bride (or at least they should be able to).
Makeup: The reasons that a bride shouldn't skimp on her makeup are similar to why she shouldn't do the same with her hair. The bride's wedding pictures will live on, likely long after she does, and she will subsequently want to look her very best. A professional makeup artist can help her do that and pretty inexpensively.
Pictures: One of the worst things that a couple can do, in an attempt to save money, is not hire a photographer or to hire one that isn't very good just because he's cheap.
It may seem like a good idea at the time, after sitting down with photographers whose prices seem excessive a couple may be tempted to go with the lowest-priced one.
However, they are likely to regret the this decision after-the-fact when either they have no pictures to share with their family members, friends, work colleagues, kids, etc. or the ones they do have are of such poor quality, that it's equivalent to not having pictures.
In order to pay for a decent photographer, a couple may need to come up with other ways to save money. There are plenty of ways to cut costs without cutting corners.
The Videographer: There is nothing quite like sitting down with ones' spouse, family members and friends and watching the wedding video. By not having one recorded, a couple is cheating themselves and their children by not capturing the blessed event on tape. A video of their wedding is something that can be passed on from generation-to-generation, allowing each subsequent one, the opportunity to see their ancestors in love and joined in holy matrimony.
Soon-to-be-married couples looking to cut wedding costs must be sure to do so wisely. Cutting out completely or cutting corners in the wrong area can prove to be disastrous and the couple likely to end up regretful.
